ABOUT GREGG
I have spent much of my life involved in business, public service and community organizations.
I am a United States Marine Corps veteran, retired publisher and businessman, and I began serving on the Humboldt Community Services District Board in 2014.
My experience in public utilities extends well beyond HCSD. I was a co-founder and Charter Chairman of the Kauai Island Utility Cooperative, helping lead the conversion of Kauai's electric utility from investor ownership to a member-owned cooperative.
LEADERSHIP MEANS GIVING SOMETHING BACK.
Whether in business, public utilities, veterans organizations or community service, I have always believed that leadership carries an obligation to give something back.
My mother, Mildred Gardiner, gave me a piece of advice that has stayed with me throughout my life:
When it's all said and done and you arrive at the Pearly Gates, make sure you left the world just a little better off than you found it.
I have tried to live my life that way.
Today, that same philosophy guides my service on the Humboldt Community Services District Board.
GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
I have served our community through HCSD, the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Toys for Tots and numerous civic, charitable and veterans organizations.
For more than 20 years, I have helped lead our regional Toys for Tots program, serving children and families throughout Northern California.

GREATER EUREKA CHAMBER
Gregg is a former President of the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce and has remained actively involved in supporting the local business community and economic vitality of the North Coast.
ROTARY CLUB OF EUREKA
Past President of the Rotary Club of Eureka and currently a member of the Rotary Club of Southwest Eureka.
For me, community leadership has always been about showing up, listening and giving something back.
